Hello ELC,
Below you will find most of the due dates for the remainder of term 1 (aside from small assignments in class). Please get these dates into your agenda books and plan for them. In order to to do a solid job of your independant novel study work, you’ll need to aim to have finished your books by early November. Remember we have been reading these since early September.
Due dates:
• Oct. 25/26: ‘Spelling Demons and Troublesome words’ quiz left column (10 questions fill in the blank)
• Journals 1-10 (homework) Due: Nov. 13/14 (unedited and not typed)
• Nov. 6/7 Choose which journal you want to edit to perfection. (I’ll show you the rubric on this day)
• Nov. 26/27 (quiz) Journal edited due (may or may not be on term 1)
• Nov. 15/16 Quote of the book is due (theme quiz) This is a single sentence and a quote.
• Nov. 21/22 (test) Book talk/write up. (I’ll hand out the rubrics for you to see soon) The talk is not to be read but rather you can have a short list of notes to remind you what you want to say.
Today in class we worked on Character trait language!
o Choose 2 characters from your novel.
o Identify 3 character traits for each of these 2 characters
o and tell us in a full sentence how you know they possess these traits.
o Hand in before you go.
Remember the work we did for our Sponge Bob activity. This is like that.
Thanks,
Ms.S
