Due dates/deadlines/summary notes

ELC,

Last block you:
  • submitted the story boards you have been working on,
  • received the character development handouts . (Due Tuesday Feb.20/Wednesday Feb.21 individual work)
  • complete draft scripts for homework check (Due  Thurs. Feb. 15th / Friday Feb. 16th)

  • Scripts Typed and printed /performances Due Thurs/Friday Feb. 23./22 There will be no extensions on the performance dates.
Today, you received your Summary tests back. There has been considerable improvement. For many, we still need to do the following:
          1) Review Conditional tense. If the bacteria can withstand cold perhaps it could  live on Mars.
          2) Review paragraphing. Paragraphs don't have spaces in them, rather they are all of a piece. Example summary paragraph, notice how the topic sentence is not separated from the rest of the paragraph.
          3) Notice, in the above example, how the topic sentence is connected as a full sentence. It is attached to the verb in the first sentence. It is not a sentence fragment. Be careful of this, to just place the source info. in front of your paragraph does not make it a topic sentence.
          4) Include the following: Title/source ex. Popular Science/author and date published/accessed.

5 class mini skit unit!

Hello all,

A block began working on our team playwriting unit today. You received the assignment and rubric
which includes due dates:
You will perform your skits for the class and hand in your scripts.
Feb. 22/18 day 2
Feb. 23/18 Day 1

We looked at Script formatting
You teamed up and began to brainstorm possibilities for a skit based on the theme of Discovery.Defined

For homework, review the following short videos:
  • You need not watch the whole video, but notice the way that characters interact.
  • How is it staged? Do they look at each other the whole time?
  • What is the set like?
  • What is happening when they are not talking?
  • How might the script for this play look? What sort of stage directions (instructions written into the script of a play indicating stage actions, movements of performers and/or props/lights.) do you think were added?

  • I look forward to your creative efforts.
